Hey everyone! Welcome to the world of homeschooling! Some of you are most likely comfortable with this new world of education; but many of you may be questioning how you will begin educating your kids at home. You may feel overwhelmed, and maybe worried. Well, here's some good news; you don't have to.
You as parents are facilitators of your child's education. What does that mean? It means that there are hundreds of resources out there, including, hopefully, your chid's classroom teacher, that can provide educational activities and materials. Your job is to support that learning, just like you have always done.
It can be very overwhelming jumping in, without any plan to do so, and feel the full brunt of the responsibility of being an educator. But I am here to help. I have elementary teaching degrees in three states and over 30 years of teaching experience, including 8 years of homeschool. This does not mean that I have all of the answers; and that's why a community of people works best when we try to help others.
So, if you are feeling that stress about being your child's primary educator, and want a place to go for advice, ideas, and community, please visit often. Let's get together and enjoy this time with our kids. It can be an amazing memory for them, and us, filled with wonderful learning opportunities.
